นิทานอีสป หมาป่าในเสื้อขนแกะ
ณ ชายป่าแห่งหนึ่ง มีหมาป่าอยู่ตัวหนึ่งที่ค่อนข้างหิวโหย มันหาอาหารกินไม่ค่อยจะได้ เนื่องจากคนเลี้ยงแกะคอยเฝ้าระวังฝูงแกะไว้เป็นอย่างดี เลยทำให้มันล่าแกะมาเป็นอาหารไม่ได้
แต่ในคืนหนึ่ง เจ้าหมาป่าได้พบกับหนังแกะซึ่งตกหล่นอยู่ข้างทาง และในวันรุ่งขึ้น เจ้าหมาป่าก็ได้คลุมหนังแกะและย่องเนียนๆ เข้าไปปะปนกับพวกแกะในฝูงที่อยู่ในทุ่งเลี้ยงสัตว์ ไม่นานนักพวกลูกแกะน้อยก็ได้ถูกเจ้าหมาป่าล่อลวงให้เดินตามไปอย่างรวดเร็วและก็โดนจับกิน
ตกเย็นในวันเดียวกันนั้นเอง เจ้าหมาป่าก็ได้เดินกลับเข้าไปปะปนกับฝูงแกะอีกครั้งหนึ่ง แต่ในครั้งนี้กลับกลายเป็นว่า คนเลี้ยงแกะเกิดอยากจะกินซุปแกะเป็นอาหารเย็นของเย็นวันนั้น เขาจึงได้หยิบมีดแล้วเดินเข้าไปในฝูงแกะ และแกะตัวแรกที่เขาจับได้และลงมือเชือดเพื่อมาเป็นอาหารเย็นนั้นก็คือเจ้าหมาป่านั่นเอง
The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
A certain Wolf could not get enough to eat because of the watchfulness of the Shepherds. But one night he found a sheep skin that had been cast aside and forgotten. The next day, dressed in the skin, the Wolf strolled into the pasture with the Sheep. Soon a little Lamb was following him about and was quickly led away to slaughter.
That evening the Wolf entered the fold with the flock. But it happened that the Shepherd took a fancy for mutton broth that very evening, and, picking up a knife, went to the fold. There the first he laid hands on and killed was the Wolf.
