สุนัขจิ้งจอกตัวหนึ่งบังเอิญหลุดเข้าไปในห้องเก็บของของโรงละครแห่งหนึ่งเข้า ทันใดนั้นเองมันสังเกตเห็นใบหน้าหนึ่งกำลังมองลงมาที่มันอย่างโกรธเกรี้ยว …
มันเริ่มตกใจกลัว…แต่พอเข้าไปดูใกล้ ๆ สุนัขจิ้งจอกก็พบว่านั่นเป็นเพียงหน้ากากที่เหล่านักแสดงใช้สวมครอบ
หน้าของพวกเขา“โอ้! แกช่างดูสง่างามน่าเกรงขามมาก แต่เสียดายที่แกไม่มีสมอง”
The Fox and Mask
A Fox had by some means got into the store-room of a theatre. Suddenly he observed a face glaring down on him and began to be very frightened; but looking more closely he found it was only a Mask such as actors use to put over their face. “Ah,” said the Fox, “you look very fine; it is a pity you have not got any brains.”
